Preggers!

Our girl Gizmo is pregnant! Way to go, girl! She's very lovey and is eating for two... or three... or four... or five...
Of course, Fargo helped a bit.
We're expecting the kittens in late July. Stay tuned!

Muffins

Our cats get nicknames. They just sort of happen. Lately these nicknames seem to have something to do with muffins. The current tally:

• Hemi is the Lovemuffin.
• Flash is the Meatmuffin.
• Katrinia is the Pudgemuffin (she has had a hard time keeping on weight at her age, so we're happy to see this).
• Gizmo is Muffins In the Oven (at least for now).

Ode to Snuggles

Before we had Maine Coons, we had Snuggles and Katrina. Katrina is still around (19 years young and still going strong!), but Snuggles died in January, 2005 at the age of 15. Never was a cat more aptly named. He was, well, a little lovemuffin. Okay, a big lovemuffin.

As you can tell, ol' Wuggly-boy wasn't a purebred Maine Coon, but he certainly had some in him. It was his personality that led us down the path to having a cattery at all -- because who wouldn't want more cats like him?
He was the kind of boy who would cuddle up with you when you were feeling down and shower you with purrs. If you stayed up too late he'd remind you that is was time to lay and bed and read for a while. Once you got into bed he'd flop up against you -- because if you're reading there's no reason why you can't use one hand to give a belly rub. Turning pages is for wimps.

This one's for you, boy.
